Here's some photos from Will Victoria's Birthday Bash he turned into a fundraiser for OurTownSF.org

So many spectacular movies at Frameline this year.  My favorites this year are Al Nisa (wow ! how courageous these women are who out themselves on film as African American lesbian & Muslim) Folsom Forever (I learned so much much about the street fair) and Local Legends (I especially liked Mr. Pam - & her gay porn career)

Who Can Live at 55 Laguna?
All income-qualified seniors, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity will be welcome to apply to live at 55 Laguna. We anticipate that a large number of LGBT seniors will apply to live at 55 Laguna, with its inviting, safe and welcoming housing, services and community programs.
Who Is Eligible and How Will Residents Be Selected?
Individuals and couples who are 55 years and older whose household income does not exceed 50% of Area Median Income (AMI) will be eligible to live at 55 Laguna.  Applicants will be selected by lottery until all the housing units are filled.  Click here for a chart of current Area Median Income by household size.
How Large Will The Units Be?
Most of the units will be one bedrooms ranging in rent from $589 to $1,000.  However, our goal is to secure rent subsidies so that residents will pay only 30% of their income for rent.

The 1st bar fundraiser for OurTownSF.org is less than 2 days away.  I've participated in numerous bar events when I was a Bare Chest Calendar man but never hosted one.  Thanks in advance to Will Victoria for doing most of the work.  Looking forward to a fun time on Saturday !

A THANK YOU

OurTownSF.org was/is a conglomeration of ideas brought forth from several individuals.  It's somewhat easy to secure criticisms but difficult to draw viable solutions to the shortcomings of a venture that has little precedent.

Our proofreaders were/are especially crucial to a website such as this because an error may cause clients & donors to forestall or give up entirely their endeavor to to good.  Our volunteers aIso help man information tables at conferences and fairs.   I'll try to list some of the people here whose viable solutions and volunteer time made the difference :

Dan Hill                        David Ochroch          Jennifer Witt                Gary Poe
Howard Hart                 Beth Feingold            Charles Wohletz           Fred Cummins
Travis Bernard              Andrea Aiello            Bob Friedland              John Marino

I have new volunteers coming on board who will help sustain & further the goals of OurTownSF.org :

Wayne Kwok
Keith Folger

Our expert web developer David of LocalOn has been instrumental in putting all our ideas together onto a portal I know so little about.

I apologize if I forgot to mention anyone in the above lists.  Thank you to the sponsors, advertisers, photographers, and graphic designers.  I am proud of how OurTownSF.org is taking shape.

Consider sponsorship of the nonprofit website OurTownSF.org which offers a unique opportunity for the San Francisco LGBT community to connect with over 250 nonprofits in order to generate new clients, members, donors &/or volunteers.  With an annual tax-deductible donation of $500, your logo or small photo, hyperlink to your webpage, business name plus category announcement i.e. realtor, bank etc. are placed on the homepage of www.OurTownSF.org  to the left of the main photo.   See Joseph Hittinger, Realtor & Wicked Grounds Cafe.  OurTownSF.org went online 10/1/13 and response reported on Google Analytics on 5/26/14 shows 546 visits in the past 30 days. I expect these figures to double within 6 months.

In addition to an A-Z & category search of over 250 nonprofits, OurTownSF.org offers:
- calendar of major fundraisers & events by these nonprofits, arts & athletic groups + fairs and annual observances
- Over 100 photos by SF LGBT photographers continually covering our events
- A compilation of over 100 YouTube videos highlighting these LGBT groups and events
- A link from each listing for individuals to reach the group for more info
- an opportunity for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning groups and their events to be listed for free

I look forward to hearing back from you regarding your interest in sponsorship,
Paul Margolis founder/volunteer
